Disgraced former Republican Governor of South Carolina and current Fox News contributor Mark Sanford went out of his way to call President Obama a spearchucker this morning.

Former Gov. Mark Sanford — now a Fox News contributor — told Fox News host Shannon Bream that President Barack Obama would have to be much more aggressive during the next debate because Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney was seen as dominating the first encounter.
“Obama’s going to come out in this case much more forcefully, and he’s going to throw a lot of spears,” Sanford opined. “And I think it’s very, very important that in this case that, you know, Romney stay focused on his vision for the country and stay focused on the things that, I think, matter most to people in this country, which is, where is the economy going, where are we with jobs, and what’s happening next on the debt and the deficit issue?”
Don’t even try to tell me this asshat didn’t mean to call a president Obama a spearchucker. Don’t even. “He’s going to be throwing a lot of spears” is not something someone says to describe a debate tactic. Just like “waving around a tar baby” didn’t make any fucking sense when Michele Bachmann said it.
Republicans are blowing their dog whistles so hard and so loudly, they are eschewing syntax, grammar, and the traditional rules of language in order to do it.
Sanford went out of his way to use that phrase. He knows it’s a racial slur. We know it’s a racial slur. Quit being coy and just say it already!
Seems fitting that on the day Felix Baumgartner went sky-diving from space that we as a nation took one giant leap leap towards the ni-CLANG! Event Horizon, doesn’t it?
